Fire & Fall Safety for Older Adults.

Presenter, Shelley Steele, has been a firefighter for 13 years and is currently a Community Safety Officer with the City of Calgary Fire Department.  Based on 16 key messages created by the National Fire Protection Association, this program aims to help older adults live safely in their homes.

"At age 65, older adults are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires compared to the population at large.  By age 75, that risk increases to three times that of the general population - and four times by age 85."
