Care Connect - Volunteers Needed

The need for food hampers has gone up during the pandemic and so has the number of people who can't drive to the Food Bank themselves.  We have created a Hope team of delivery drivers and we are working with Care Connect to get food to those in need.

What is Care Connect

Care Connect is a Christian volunteer organization that’s been in Calgary for approximately 30 years. Currently, they organize the delivery of food hampers from the Calgary Food Bank to folks who aren’t able to pick up a hamper themselves. They are the only organization that provides this service and they are always looking for more drivers.

How does it work?

Care Connect delivers from two locations the main Calgary Food Bank, and here in the NW on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10:00 to 11:00 a.m.) from the NW Depot, Centre Street Church West Campus, 4120 Centre St NE.

The afternoon of the day before delivery, Care Connect calls the group coordinator with the number of hampers and hamper delivery details; the coordinator then arranges volunteers from our group.

Can you join our delivery team?  Time commitment is minimal (Thursday mornings between 10am - 1pm).  Contact the church office for more information.
