Christmas Services 2020

For many of us, Christmas will be a little different in 2020. We won't be able to crowd in to the darkened church together, light our candles, and sing Silent Night; but we will be able to be together in a different way. Read on for details!

The Longest Night

December 20, 7:00 pm. The Longest Night service provides a time and place of solace during the often-frenetic days surrounding the celebration of Christmas. We come together seeking healing and room to share grief, sadness, loneliness, or confusion when these emotions often feel out of place during the holidays.

This service, shared by Calgary and area Lutheran churches, will take place through Zoom and YouTube. Connection details will be published in the weekly Hope Anchor.

Christmas Eve

December 24, 4:30 pm. The Christmas Eve service celebrates the incarnation of God in Christ Jesus. To us is born a child, Emmanuel, God-with-us! This service of the Word and Carols will be led, live, by the pastor through Zoom at 4:30 pm, then posted on YouTube for those who wish to participate in worship at a later time that evening. We look forward to a rich service, with contributions from our many talented musicians of Hope -- a wonderful way to be together on a winter evening.

Zoom connection details are shared in the weekly Hope Anchor newsletter. If you missed that you can request details in an email to the church office ([email protected]).

Christmas Day

December 25, 11:00 am. Christmas Day celebrates the Word made flesh and the light that shines in the darkness but is not overcome. This service will be streamed live through Zoom at 11:00 am. You will also be able to find it posted to our YouTube channel for viewing any time. A great way to take time on Christmas morning for prayer and worship.

Zoom connection details are shared in the weekly Hope Anchor newsletter. If you missed that you can request details in an email to the church office ([email protected]).

First Sunday of Christmas

December 27, 10:00 am. This Sunday morning service will take place as usual, through Zoom.

Zoom connection details are shared in the weekly Hope Anchor newsletter. If you missed that you can request details in an email to the church office ([email protected]).
