Daily Prayer

Starting in 2021 I would like to invite you to participate in Daily Prayer. Instead of the weekly Morning Prayer service that was published in the Anchor and uploaded to YouTube, a Daily Prayer booklet was published in the church newsletter and is available for download here. You can use this as a guide for your own daily devotions, if you don’t already have a routine or resource like Eternity for Today.

The format is simple. It begins with a litany that helps us enter in to a spirit of prayer, then continues with a psalm and other readings from scripture. These selections will be included at the end of the weekly Pastor’s Page, will be posted to our website, and also published as a chart with readings until Easter. These readings complement the Sunday and festival readings: Thursday through Saturday readings help prepare the reader for the Sunday ahead; Monday through Wednesday readings help the reader reflect on and digest what they heard in worship.

Following the scripture readings, there is space for prayer – you may pray your own way or use the printed words as a guide. The devotional concludes with the Lord’s Prayer and a blessing. In all, this outline will take between 10 and 20 minutes to pray through.

I hope this will be a valuable resource to you as you nurture your own spiritual life, listening for God’s voice through the Word.

Pastor Kristian
