Dear Hope Family,
As a church community we are concerned about the incredibly rapid spread of the omicron variant of Covid-19 in Alberta. Although we have gathered in person safely for the past many months, including through Christmas, it seems prudent at this time to keep each other safe and do our part in society to reduce the amount of public gatherings, to refrain from gathering in person for worship for at least the next two weeks.
Services on January 2 and 9 will be online-only.
On Monday the 10th we will assess the situation with the Covid data of the previous two weeks in hand, and make a decision about services going forward at that time.
All small group activities (e.g. Knitters, Bible Study, Confirmation) will also be online-only until at least January 9.
We're all experiencing fatigue and frustration with the pandemic that keeps going, and the health guidelines that keep changing. Let's remember as 2022 begins to be gentle with ourselves and each other. It is by now cliché to say, but it's as true as ever: We're still in this together! We are still "one body" in Christ. If you are feeling lonely or overwhelmed with the events and anxieties of the present times, please reach out! Call a friend. Call the pastor. We will always have time for you.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13
