Robert Edwin Pattinson, fondly known as Ted to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, in Calgary. The family is sincerely grateful to the staff in Unit 73 of Rockyview Hospital for their care of Dad's last week.

Born on June 19, 1931, in Gladstone, Manitoba, Ted's journey through life was marked by his generous spirit, loving heart, and friendly demeanor, touching the lives of many around him.

Ted's formative years spent in the heart of Canada shaped his resilient and adventurous character. After graduating from the University of Manitoba with a degree in science, he moved to Calgary in 1952 to pursue a career with Frontier. As a geophysicist, he worked with various oil companies before becoming a partner at Norcana Geophysical, where he dedicated his expertise and became a respected figure in his field.

Ted's love for life did not end with his work. Upon retirement, he discovered a passion for golf, spending many a sunny day on the greens perfecting his swing. His creative spirit found a new outlet in carving, where he channeled his precision and patience into works of art. Ted was also an ocean lover, relishing the chance to swim in its vastness during the many years he and his wife enjoyed snow birding in Florida and Palm Springs.

Family was the cornerstone of Ted's world. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Although predeceased by his parents, the mother of his children, Shirley, his sister Elenore, brother Bill, two nephews Brian and Rick Hay, and granddaughter Taylor, his legacy continues through his loving wife, Joan, and his children, Denise Good and her husband Jim, Scott and his wife Denise, David, stepdaughters Joanne and her husband Gord, and Kim and her husband Tim. His grandchildren, Billy, Bruce, Kellie, Kennedy, Cecilia, Garyn, and Ethan, will carry forward the memories of their cherished grandfather.

Ted's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, dedication, and kindness. His ability to make friends wherever he went and to give generously of himself ensured that he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Ted, we celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the many moments that he gifted us through the years.
