William Garnet Leach Obituary

Pastor William Garnet Leach shuffled off his mortal coil late in the evening of August 20, 2026. Born on October 5, 1932 in Yorkshire, England, he chose to immigrate to Canada in 1953. He worked as a hired man in Standard, Alberta where he heard the call to ministry, a calling he fulfilled faithfully until the close of his life.

Garnet leaves behind his loving wife, Margaret, his proud and grateful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by Luella, his devoted wife and partner in ministry. “Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” (Psalm 103:1)

To honour Garnet’s memory and his lifetime of ministry, Dr. Harry Maier has curated a collection of his sermons and writings. They can be read at http://pastorgarnetleach.com

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Lord of All Lutheran Church (112 Lakeside Blvd, Strathmore) at 2:00 p.m.
