Thank you to everyone who attended Worship in the Park last Sunday - we had almost 50 worshipers. It was a good feeling to be in the presence of so many church family members. A special thank you to Nathan and Lonnie for helping Pastor Kristian with the music.
We will continue to offer live streaming of our Sunday Worship Service while allowing members to attend in person. You must call the church office to pre-register to attend in-person worship as there are capacity limits. Those attending in person must do a COVID self-screen at home and come to the church ONLY if feeling well and have not travelled out of country or been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID.
Attendees must wear masks while in the church building and should use hand sanitizer upon arrival. An usher will greet and screen attendees, and then direct them to socially distanced seating; certain sections and pews are unavailable. Singing is not allowed, but humming is encouraged as per Alberta Health COVID Restrictions.
Some of the seating will be in the line of the camera so attendees should let ushers know if they are not comfortable with being on camera. Doors to the building will be locked by 9:55 a.m.
The service will be led by Rev. Margaret Propp, of the U of C / Mount Royal campus ministry. Helping her lead the service will be members of the ministry team. We look forward to hearing more about the exciting things that are still happening, even in the midst of the current challenges to university life.
Always a special service, this year it will include online connected Holy Communion. As we share bread and wine in a community meal connected through technology, we will remember more than ever how “it is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to God.”
DO YOU HAVE ANY PRODUCE ITEMS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE FOR A THANKSGIVING DISPLAY AT THE CHURCH? Please contact the office and make arrangements to drop off before worship service on Sunday, October 11.
Worship this day will be musically led by Hope’s own house band, The Range. The service will also feature special musical contributions from the group.
A very special celebration this year, nine young people will make their Affirmations of Baptism. Special music will be contributed by a brass quartet. Having added to our numbers of in-person worshippers throughout October, we will be at our maximum capacity in the worship space by this Sunday, with spots reserved for the confirmands and their families. How wonderful that the rest of the congregation can still participate and cheer on our young people through Zoom!
