Alberta Highway Cleanup Day
The annual highway clean-up event that occurs each May had been postponed by Alberta Transportation. The new date is Saturday, September 19. At this time, Hope Lutheran Church planning to participate in this event – we have been assigned a 12 km stretch of highway (near Cross Iron Mills). We will work as a group to clean ditches and Hope will be paid $100/km cleaned. This has been a great activity the past few years. It allows participants to get fresh air and exercise all while being wonderful environmental stewards. Folks aged 9+ are asked to sign up (contact Zena). Parents must attend with children and youth. We also need adult drivers. Please put this event on your calendar and stay tuned for details.
